Hotel Ottilia

The Ottilia, in Copenhagen’s rapidly evolving Carlsberg City District, is housed in a 19th-century warehouse commissioned by beer magnate Carl Jacobsen.

The hotel retains impressive architectural features, including 64 golden shields on the eastern façade, and the inverted pyramidal forms of grain silos in the interior. This is eloquently offset with contemporary Scandinavian design, including a lighting installation by Niclas Hoflin that winds through the atrium.

From the first-floor gin bar to rooftop Italian restaurant Tramonto, there are social places aplenty, so long as guests can tear themselves away from the 155 alluring rooms and suites, many featuring round padded window seats. §
